Aspen was born via C-section and I was thrilled more than I could have imagined to have a girl, I was thinking that she was a girl since I saw those 3 lines in the very first ultra sound but then I never saw them again and started to seriously doubt myself! I truly wasn't sure of the baby's sex. Then the Dr told us that it was a girl and I was crying, I was just that happy! We came home on the 9th, and the following day she was down to 6 lbs 1/2 oz and had jaudice on the 11th we ended up in the ER in the evening, she was more yellow and not waking to eat, and scaring the crap out of me, and I personally was in the full throws of the baby blues, crying at the blink of the eye, terryified and joyful at the same time, here I have this gorgeous baby girl who seemed to be fading away from me right in front of my eyes, I hated it! Now I am so pleased, she is eating and waking more I am sort of "getting" the breast feeding thing, it is not going all gang busters but I am starting to get it, but she is not a vigorous eater so that may be a problem but with the nipple shield it is getting better. I am pumping and I have even prepared a couple of formula bottles for just incase.
