Life with our little miracle man is always interesting and one day last week I thought that I was going expire for all the energy he sapped out of me. LOL!
In a little over one day he did the following:
-Poked a huge hole in the plastic covering one of our leaky windows, it now has an attractive clear tape patch hastily devised by mommy.
-Poured a "plate full" of Mrs Buttersworth syrup (he talks to her all the time so I think he likes her) in his plate after breakfast, apparently he was covering the "last piece" (since he kept saying that) of his omelet, then he proceeded to "paint" the table. All of this in the time it took to change Aspen's diaper, Mrs B has since retreated to a safe house located on the top of the fridge.
-Then we got ready for school...yes the previous was all done before 8am....so I get him dressed and go to put Aspen in her seat, then get his coat and shoes on...I turn around and he is naked but for his pull up!! So I dress him again, and put on his coat and take him and his back pack out to the car, but as always I have to go potty, when I get back out guess who is gleefully sitting in just a pull up....just guess... so I dress him again and get on the coat and shoes...and decided the best most convenient (for me) place for him for him to be was buckled in his seat. He did stay dressed all the way to school after that.
-He then had a busy day at school, well a busy hour and a half at school, and had 20 minutes of fits leaving, this is the kid that doesn't throw fits when leaving class, he is so cooperative every other day.
-So he naps on the way home and I think that this will set up for a better afternoon...wrong... he woke up in the same unruly mood, and spent the rest of the day, taking off his clothes and tearing holes in his pull ups so the nasty gel like junk falls on the floor....Ewww... he is also trashing Aurora's room, and his own, pushing things off tables and getting into anything he was told to stay out of...
-Fast forward to afternoon about 3:00...He goes into the kitchen while I am feeding Aspen and I told him to come out, he does reluctantly, I should have known he was planning something...I had to go to the bathroom and by this time you would think I would be smarter than that... I come out and a very happy Chase is stirring sugar, 4 cups approximately, (whatever a full sugar container holds the one that I keep by the coffee pot) in a pan on the stove, since that was a clean pan I put the sugar back in the bowl.
-After supper I was in the bedroom and I came out to find Chase once again cooking but this time he added water to his sugar and no one in the house, (Hawken and Aurora) had any idea that he was "cooking" he was so quiet, but I wasn't something between a groan and a screech came out of my mouth and that brought Hawken to his feet and he grabbed Chase and Aurora and headed to Rory's room, obviously he knows that sound, I was done, all of this in one day was just too much! In about 2 minutes, I had myself together again but thank God Hawken is the kid he is, and Aurora knew when to listen to him and not argue with him for once.
This all sounds very typical of a 3.5yr old and that is where I am guessing he is developmentally he was still so sweet while wreaking havoc that I could managed to remain sane but I was spent, I had no energy left physically or mentally!
